Check Source for Geiger Counter, 200mg Monazite (Thorium Ore) Infused Epoxy Disk. Condition is New.
Shipped with USPS wrapped in plastic and bubble wrap.
Each disc contains at least 200mg of powdered monazite mixed into an epoxy disk. Monazite contains 3.5-10% thorium dioxide and emits alpha particles and undergoes (beta and/or gamma decay).
Guaranteed to provide a count above 120CPM when placed within 1/4 inch if the geiger tube of a Geiger Counter. This Item will not work very well with "dosimeters" that do not detect alpha particles as 74% of the activity in this specimen is in the form of alpha particles.
One side of the disk may contain more monazite than the other so try flipping the disc over to obtain a higher count.
Each 200mg disc weighs at least 1g and is approximately 21mm wide by 3.5mm thick.
This listing meets the requirements of NRC 10 CFR 40.22
