If you are looking for a nice, pre-owned, clean, classic set of silverplate by a GREAT manufacturer, this is it! Reed and Barton is a prominent name in both sterling silver and silverplate.
This pattern is ENGLISH CROWN and it is Super
Silver produced by Reed & Barton back in 1968.  Their SuperSilver silverplate was reinforced in areas that experience wear so it would wear longer.  Well marked on the back:  Reed & Barton.
Very clean, maybe some very, very light usage marks on some of the pieces - mostly from storage.  Not brand new but in VERY VERY GOOD clean condition.
No loss of silver and no monogram - very clean.
Reed & Barton made a quality silverplate that had extra silver at the places where it would wear (like on the heel of the fork where it would it the table etc.) so that it would last longer.
This set of 40 pieces, service for 8, consists of the following:
8 Dinner forks - 7 3/8"
8 Salad forks - 6 3/4"
8 Teaspoons - 6"
8 Knives with stainless steel blades - 9"
1 Serving spoon - 8 1/2"
1 Pierced serving spoon - 8 1/2"
1 Ladle - 6 1/2"
1 Butter knife - 7"
1 Serving fork - 8 3/4"
2 Oval place spoons - 6 5/8"
I know a bit about this set because I know the lady I purchased it from.  She got it back in 1971 and used it only when she needed more settings than she had in her sterling pattern.  It was seldom used.
